Training ethical social workers based on people-oriented philosophy

The deepening structural inequality, triggered by the rapid growth in modern societies, is expressed through various human needs and requires a professional and organized social welfare system as well as the subdivided roles of social workers.

In addition, The department of social welfare has been offering well-organized programs for training 1) child care teachers who are in charge of infant and child education, 2) youth workers who manage and support youth training activities, exchange activities, and club activities for children and adolescents. It has established an ‘industry-academia convergence support system’ that is linked with local community organizations in order to developing professional integrity and skills of the future social workers, child care teachers and youth workers. With that system, the department is fostering future professionals with great work ethics and practical skills of working in the field by providing students with a variety of extra-curricular programs such as job competency improvement programs and club activities.

Education objectives

  • Training social workers, child care teachers and youth workers with a clear professional ethics based on the philosophy of respect for human beings
  • Training social workers, child care teachers and youth workers with knowledge and skills in solving social problems and needs of the modern societies
